Jazz in the Mills 2018 Concert Series at the Other Barn in Columbia, Maryland
Jazz in the Mills proudly presents four concerts in 2018 on Sunday, March 25; Sunday, June 24; Sunday, September 16; and Sunday, December 2, 2018. All shows are at 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with the exception of Sunday,December 3 which is our Holiday Jazz Extravaganza and runs until 8:00 p.m. The Holiday Jazz Extravaganza includes a buffet/dessert.
Jazz in the Mills will feature the following Jazz Musicians:
March 25, 2018: Cloudburst - The sound is Jazz Vocal Group, and the stye is Vocalese. Cloudburst recreates some of the best recordings of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross for a live audience, along with performing some original works of vocalese written and arranged by the group.
June 24, 2018: Eric Byrd Trio - "Throughout his trio's concert at the Kennedy Center, Eric Byrd sounded as if he were strolling through a southern town, taking, taking in the spiritual sounds of the church house one moment and the earthy rumble of the roadhouse the next" -Mike Joyce, Music Journalist, Washington Post
September 16, 2018: Lavenia Nesmith with special guest Steve Washington - "Her voice rich and resonant, can be powerful and poignant, sultry or sweet" - Janet Gilbert, The Baltimore Sun
December 2, 2018: Miles Griffith Quartet - This native New Yorker favors a hard swinging, aggressive full bodied vocal style whether he is scatting, interpreting standards, or performing his own songs.
Tickets in advance for the March, June and September concerts are $20 and for the December concert $35.00.
Snacks and beverages are available for sale at each concert. Jazz in the Mills does not offer refunds or replacement tickets.
