Catalyst presents TOOTH OF CRIME

This February, Catalyst Rep returns to Foutain Square's Grove Haus to present Sam Shepard's jarring music play, Tooth of Crime! Tooth of Crime, written in the 1970s and later revised, by Shepard himself, into it's current edition in the '90s, follows aging rock-god or 'Marker', Hoss [Davey Pelsue] into his final battle with his self-appointed rival, a gypsy named Crow [Adam Tran]. The world of this decadent and brutal play is a dark, futuristic wasteland that is dominated by a ritual called "The Game," a conflation of rock music, fame-gaming and violence played under the direction of "The Keepers" who control The Charts. Hoss has struggled all his life to remain a top Marker in The Charts, finds himself doubting his abilities in the face of opposition from Crow, who operates outside of the official rules of The Game. A battle of fame, violence, and music confronts the audience with vivid imagery, language and songs as Hoss and Crow enter into a ferocious battle of wits and rock.
