This is THE PARTY for 2017! Two of our favorite bands from that hotbed of creativity known as Northampton MA bask in the red glow of the Lizard tonight. Dance, pop, alt. folk, and straight ahead rock'n'roll come together into one beautiful psychedelic mix.  These two young bands will be sure to knock you out!

Sun Parade formed in Northampton, Massachusetts, where kids skinny dip in the Mill River and smoke on the tobacco farms on the flood plains. The music scene here is legendary. Even now, touring venues and festivals across the U.S., the Sun Parade lads are most satisfied when their music conjures a Route 9 basement show somewhere along the fold of the map that delivered Dinosaur Jr. and The Pixies  a cellar in which everyone is sweaty and dancing and in love or something like it, and by 3 a.m. the rhythm section is shaking the house and you cant tell the band from the crowd.

A quintet whose members have been playing together about a quarter of their young lives, Lux Deluxe steeps their music in classic rock waters then adds a modern touch to create a near-perfect sound for just about anyone with ears. The Northampton based quintetakes catchy, straight-ahead rock'n'roll influenced by the likes of Wilco and the cult-favorite band NRBQ. The group of three cousins and two friends released their second album, Its a Girl, last year and joined Deer Tick onstage in New York after Christmas to cover all of NRBQs 1980 album Tiddly Winks before playing to a hometown New Years Eve show in which former NRBQ guitarist Big Al Anderson joined them onstage. "I might as well have been playing with Paul McCartney," bassist Jacob Rosazza says.
