ARIZONA PREMIERE

JOIN DIRECTOR JASON M. SOLOMON AFTER THE FILM FOR A Q&A

2011, USA, 91 Min
DOCUMENTARY
Directed by Jason M. Solomon

From 1964 to 1969 the Cafe Au Go Go in New York's Greenwich Village was a beacon in the night for many a disenfranchised performer. A few obscure and relatively unknown musicians and comics like Musicians & comics Jimi Hendrix, Steven Stills, The Grateful Dead, The Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Blood Sweat and Tears, Frank Zappa, George Carlin, Richard Prior, Lily Tomlin, and Lenny Bruce (who was famously arrested there), would all get their start down at the legendary Cafe Au Go Go at 152 Bleeker Street.

7 Years Underground: A 60's Tale tells the tale of this legendary venue whose artists would influence a whole generation of hip, New York teenagers. In turn, those teenagers would inspire a grass roots movement to help transform the socio-political landscape and consciousness of an entire "hippie" nation during the turbulent 60's.
