About the Event
Its the 5th annual Artichoke Jazz Nite featuring the Adrian Martin Sextet! Each year Adrian Martin has brought Portlands best players together. Each year the show has sold out. Get your tickets now.
This is the last time to hear these skilled local musicians at this location of Artichoke Café. Its Portlands best listening room and its some of the best music youll ever hear. This years performers include:

Experience 3 astounding women and 3 remarkable males performing in tribute to People and Places. We will feature the music of legendary jazzers such as Thelonius Monk, Chick Corea, Mongo Santamaria, Herbie Mann, Art Blakey and originals tunes by the members of the Adrian Martin Sextet.
About Adrian Martin
Adrian Martin has performed around the world and teaches at Artichoke Music. He has a degree in classical guitar, a background in Americana music and has studied jazz for decades. He is skilled, unique and entertaining.
About Val Adel
Val Adell is an accomplished vocalist who has sung with nearly every major artist in Portland, OR. She also does voice-over work and hosted her own jazz show on KMHD-jazz radio.
About Cheryl Alex
is a flutist/vocalist/pianist. Shes been central in the jazz community for over twenty years, appearing regularly and recording with luminaries such as 3-time grammy nominated vocalist Nancy King, guitar wizard Jerry Hahn and Leroy Vinegar. The Oregonian says, a sound akin to Joni Mitchell. Cheryl is a dedicated educator for flute, piano and voice.
About Steve Christofferson
Steve Christofferson is an international musician making is home and raising a family in Washington State. He records and performs regularly with legendary jazz vocalist Nancy King. He teaches workshops and masterclasses at home and abroad.
About Dave Captein
Dave Captein is an accomplished performer on both string bass and bass guitar, having worked as a professional musician for over 35 years in the Pacific Northwest. He is a Portland native. He teaches at universities in Oregon and has performed with jazz celebrities such as Wynton Marsalis, Mose Allison, Jeff Lorber, Randy Brecker and Joey De Francesco.
About Rivkah Ross
Rivkah Ross is a young prodigy, new to Portland. She has toured Europe and studied at Musicians Institute in L.A. She is involved in The Rhythmic Arts Project to Teach Foundational Reading (children with challenges learning to read using rhythms).
