España alla Rossini
Orchestra Miami presents España alla Rossini on Sunday, January 22nd, 7:00 PM at the atmospheric and beautiful Ancient SPanish Monastery. The concert is a thematic vocal and dance recital that explores the relationship the Italian composer Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868) enjoyed with Spain in the first half of the 19th century. This theatrical music concert is for mezzo soprano, tenor, Spanish classical dancer and piano. The featured artist is Maltese Mezzo soprano Anna Tonna and Elaine Rinaldi pianist and Artistic Director of Orchestra Miami . The concert also features tenor Miguel Borallo and Elisabet Torres Aguilera, a Spanish dancer who performs on soft shoe, castanets and costume the late 18th and early 19th century Spanish classical dance style known as "Escuela bolera". This concert is presented as a part of Orchestra Miami's "Discover Miami Through Music" series.
