Vallejo Choral Society Noche Buena Holiday Concert
Join Vallejo Choral Society as we celebrate our 99th Season Crossing Bridges, with our holiday premier performance. Our Noche Buena concert features traditional Christmas songs of the Philippines, including favorites "Simbang Gabi", "Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit", "Kumukutikutitap", and "Paruparong Bukid". Our symphonic choir also performs the festival processional, "Personent Hodie", Ola Gjeilo's ethereal "Serentity (O Magnum Mysterium)", and Morten Lauridsen's moving composition, Sure On This Shinging Night".
The celebration continues with VCS's Chamber Choir singing, "Pasko Na Naman!", the folksong, "Da Kami Ay Anan-ak", and "There is No Rose" from Britton's A Ceremony of Carols. The Chamber Choir also presents Steven Salka's transcription of "Para Dar Luz Immortal", and the 14th century devotional, "O Virgo Splendens".
As is tradition, the audience will be invited to join in singing favorite Christmas Carols to ring in the season!
