Singing Audition and Performance Interpretation with Tony Winner Adam Guettel

Animus Theatre Company is proud to present their final Professional Workshop of the 2015-2016 Season: Singing Audition and Performance with Adam Guettel. Often, top-tier Singing Workshops are offered, understandably, to trained singers, so we at Animus wanted to provide an opportunity for "Actors Who Sing" (or "Actors Who Want to Sing") to participate in the same workshop offered to singers with more formal training. On December 3 and/or 4, participants of all musical theatre backgrounds will be given just such an opportunity. Participants are only required to attend their specified day, but may audit the second day for free if they so choose.

Adam Guettel, a multiple Tony and Drama Desk Award winning composer, is perhaps best known for The Light in the Piazza (Best Score, Best Orchestrations) as well as Floyd Collins, Love's Fire, and Saturn Returns (Myths and Hymns). He is currently workshopping his new musical Millions, as well as developing a musical adaptation of the 1962 film Days of Wine and Roses. In this workshop, he will devote 30 minutes of one-on-one coaching time to each participant.

When: December 4, 2016, 12PM-5PM (Actors Who Sing/Want to Sing)

Where: Theatre Row Studios, Studio 2 (411 West 41st Street between 9th and Dyer)

What to Prepare:

Trained Singers - Please prepare one song from your 'book', both in total as well as a 32-bar cut
Actors Who Sing - If you have a 'book', please prepare one song from it in total (as well as a 32-bar cut if you have one); If you don't have a 'book', please prepare a song to which you can connect and might want to share. Mr. Guettel can also provide you a song if you have trouble choosing one.

Fee: $250 to Participate*; $50 to Audit One Day* (Participants may audit the second day of the workshop for free; Auditors may audit both days, $50 per day).
