State of the Arts presents "SONG STORIES, Music From The Great White Way"
All the sophistication, elegance and romance of a Manhattan nightclub has come home to Easton and the surrounding communities in one glamorous evening of music, story and celebration. State Of The Arts, in association with Oakes Ames Hall, the cultural center of the Shovel Town Cultural District, presents SONG STORIES, Music from the Great White Way. Under the direction of the renowned creative show team of Michael La Fleur (Disney, Universal, Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman) and musical director, Thomas Conroy (Grease, The Last 5 Years, Cabaret), this magical concert will take the audience on a romantic and uplifting journey through the stories and characters from the Broadway songbook. Enjoy a cocktail or two, and sample our delectable sweet and savory snack plates, as you are swept away by four, stunning vocalists, as they recreate show-stopping moments from the worlds greatest musicals. New York headliners, Christine Hope and Mark Bradley Miller, will guest star, performing with two up and coming local entertainers. Part of State of the Art's mission is to bring outstanding local talent and guest artists from Broadway, Hollywood and Las Vegas together in high quality performances. With this fine ensemble, a clever collection of classic showtunes, and Conroy at the piano, this promises to be a not-to-be-missed evening of upscale entertainment.
Oakes Ames Hall has recently undergone a fabulous make-over, and their premiere showroom is, now, the perfect setting for the concert. The room will feature both intimate and group tables surrounded by the elegant wood and stained glass of the historical room. La Fleur and Conroy have put together a fantastic night of entertainment, the kind one only finds in high-end supper clubs and showrooms in Manhattan, Boston and other larger cities. Guest stars Hope and Miller have starred in musicals, plays and cabarets across the US, and have worked with both La Fleur and Conroy in critically acclaimed productions. Bringing this established team together, "Stage Stories" promises to be a unique and memorable experience, and will raise the bar for more sophisticated and highly professional show experiences for the region. Doors open at 7:00pm on Saturday, November 12 at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, located at 3 Barrows Street, North Easton, MA 02356. General admission is $25, and seniors and students are $20.
