Songs and solo piano music for Fortepiano and Soprano by Mozart, Schubert, Haydn, and Beethoven
The beginning of the 18th century saw the birth of the piano. The early version of the piano is now called the fortepiano. Mozart and Haydn were among the first composers to compose songs for the fortepiano and voice, and doing so very imaginatively and using the full resources of the fortepiano. This concert features a beautiful replica of a fortepiano built by the well reputed builder Paul Polleti.
This concert will feature songs by Mozart and Haydn, as well as the Sonata op. 32 no. 2, "The Tempest" by Beethoven.
Susan Rhodes-Morris, Soprano Andy Canepa, Fortepiano
