Vanessa Lowe CD release show
Sept 28th, 8:30pm
$10-15
Rare solo performance! *
This event is rated R - yes, really! *
The first "act" is a short film with some language and images I just don't think you want your young child to experience.

Vanessa Lowe is a singer-songwriter-guitarist based in the SF Bay Area.  She is proud to present her 5th album of original songs, featuring the subtle production of Kent Sparling.  Arrangements include reed organ, autoharp, violin, viola, slide whistle, Rhodes piano, and Puerto Rican Cuatro, along side electric guitar by Myles Boisen, Ben Freelove's bass, and Sparling's "tiny instruments".

The night will feature a return to the intimate solo performances that she was known for before forming "Bug Eyed Sprite".  The focus is back on Lowe's voice, distinctive rhythmic finger-picking, and imagistic lyrics.

The East Bay Express pegged Lowe's music as "dream-pop-meets-indie-folk", and she doesn't object to that description.

KFOG DJ Rosalie Howarth says, "She knows how to tell a compelling story in under 3 minutes!".
