"Melanie DeMore's singing is thrilling. This is not a voice that comes along everyday. This is woman power wrapped in velvet." --Ronnie Gilbert
Founded on a mission of peace through music, Aurora Chorus remains faithful to her original calling. In our 4th annual International Women's Day celebration, we showcase the power and passion of women's voices for change. Aurora joins Melanie DeMore on stage for a joy-filled, interactive performance. Aurora encores performances from years past including Máire Brennan's stirring "Against the Wind" and Charlie Murphy's "We Remain Faithful".
Season ticket holders get preferred seating at the front of the main floor. Single-event tickets are for seats on the rest of the main floor and in the balcony.
There will be one concert at 4:00. All tickets are for open (non-reserved) seats. Note that the balcony is accessible only by stairs.
Tickets can be mailed to you at no charge or held in Will Call for pickup. We do not require photo ID at Will Call.
Seating begins 15 minutes before each performance. Come down to the friendship hall beforehand to stay warm and dry. We happily accommodate patrons who arrive early and request assistance due to mobility challenges. Note that the balcony is accessible only by stairs.
Since 1992, Aurora Chorus has honored the strength and beauty of women's lives through the fine art of choral singing. Aurora was founded on the belief that music can be a powerful instrument of peace--locally, globally, and in the hearts of all who sing and all who listen.
Directed by renowned choral composer Joan Szymko, Aurora Chorus is comprised of 100 singers from the Portland/Vancouver metro area.
