BOISE, ID Local songwriter Matthew C. Vander Boegh is set to release his third studio album with a CD release show at the Visual Arts Collective.
This time, Vander Boegh has drifted far from his previous two albums of hard rock and has rediscovered his adolescent roots with twelve songs of toe-tapping, swing-dancing, beer-drinking country.This album, called "Country for Sale: Volume 1" was written entirely by Vander Boegh but recorded with a slew of local and regional musicians. Featuring the vocals of five different singers, this album offers listeners a huge assortment of sounds and styles. From party songs to love songs to duets to woes of romance-gone-wrong, there's no lack of variety. But throughout all twelve tunes, one thing is certain: they are undoubtedly grounded in modern country sensibilities.
To kickstart album sales and interest, Vander Boegh is throwing a CD release party that
will feature live performances of all twelve songs. Plus, two local country singer-songwriters
(Kelly McMurrian and Greg Bridges, both featured on Vander Boegh's album) will play opening
sets to make this a complete night of country music.
Each ticket purchase will include a free copy of Vander Boegh's CD "Country for Sale:
Volume 1".
This show is semi-formal in attire, and each attendee is asked to dress "country formal"
(optional). So iron your Wranglers, find your biggest belt buckle, pull on your best Justin boots,and top it all off with a bolo tie and Stetson hat. This is one party country fans won't want to miss.
