On Cinema: Moment by Moment
Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington live in person discussing and screening the 1978 motion picture, "Moment By Moment," a romantic drama starring Lily Tomlin and John Travolta that has never been released on VHS or DVD.

"On Cinema" is weekly podcast about film hosted by Tim Heidecker (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and featuring guest Gregg Turkington (Cartoon Network, and the notorious San Francisco band Zip Code Rapists). Tim and Gregg will be appearing in-person at The Downtown Independent for a special live discussion about the movie "Moment By Moment" (1978, starring Lily Tomlin & John Travolta) followed by a rare public screening of this misunderstood and oft-maligned cinematic gem.

"After this much success, selecting a follow-up project to "Saturday Night Fever" would be a daunting task for any actor. It's likely that any project Travolta signed onto would have been looked at as something of a failure by comparison. Unfortunately, he signed onto a movie that looks like a failure compared to nearly anything you've ever seen in your life. He decided to star in Moment by Moment. The tarnish would never really come off Travolta's career after this movie." - TheAgonyBooth.com

"From Travolta's point of view, the entire sex angle would have been uncomfortable enough if he had merely been making love to just any lesbian in front of her real lover, with the lover in turn, as the director, encouraging him to make it look real. It went beyond creepy and into Greek tragedy material in light of the fact that the lesbian in his arms was almost a dead ringer for his own sister, Ellen Travolta. As Los Angeles magazine reported from the set, "The chemistry between Tomlin and Travolta began to rival that between Menachem Begin and Yassar Arafat." One crew member recalled, "Two weeks into the shooting on location in Malibu there was nobody on the set that didn't know we were in the middle of a turkey. It was like being on the voyage of the damned." - Scoopy.com
