Get Higher: Mishkan High Holidays 5773
About Mishkan: Mishkan is inspired, down-to-earth Judaism. No prior high holiday experience required (in fact, this is our first time, too! Woo-hoo!).
About High Holidays: Hayom harat olam: TODAY is the beginning of something completely new.
We begin the Jewish new year with a sense of possibility, openness and receptivity. We reflect on the year that has passed and let it go, then step into the space of potential and newness with joy, excitement, a little trepidation, and most of all, a sense of amazement that we're still here and can still grow.
The "high" in High Holidays is all about yirah, what Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel called radical amazement- awareness for even one moment of the awesome and precious surprise of our lives. High Holidays with Mishkan will help you get there. We'll be using the Conservative Mahzor Hadash, and will provide transliteration guides for songs and pieces throughout.
