Mudcat Mud Bay Sunset Concert
This will be a sunset to remember. Daniel "Mudcat"McKinstry performs a late afternoon show on the shore of Mud Bay, just a few yards from the one-time site of Mudcat Music, where McKinstry once sold the unique stringed instruments he makes by hand, unquestionably works of art in themselves.
Mudcat is increasingly recognized as a musical treasure of the Pacific Northwest, an encyclopedia of Americana music, and his performances bring generations of music fans together while reuniting music past with music present in foot stomping, hand clapping, knee slapping fashion. Whatever your contemporary music tastes are, his performances will remind you where they came from. These are the Roots of Rock and Roll.
He's as authentic as a musician can be, and if that sounds cliche, it can only be because you haven't seen him perform live. You will not find him on social media or photo shoots or magazine covers - at least not on purpose. The accolades come from those who share the stage with him, honored to be sharing the stage with such a master of the craft, and from those who see him and recognize the uniqueness of the man and his music and encourage those they know to get a taste of it while they can. And there is no better time or place to do it than on Saturday the 17th, when the man of music returns to his own roots on the shores of Mud Bay.
