American Portraits
The program captures glimpses of America through some of our most beloved music, including virtuosic solo arrangements by Jonathan Levin based on tunes from the Great American Songbook - songs by Rogers and Hart, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter. This concert is the culmination of a long process of preparation and study, which features Jonathans foremost musical influences and premieres of compositions by Levin himself. The concert will conclude with George Gershwins immortal Rhapsody in Blue which Gershwin himself arranged for solo piano.
