Vashon Island Salmon Derby - 2012
The Vashon Island Salmon Derby is a derby where every other year (odd years) is a "Pink Salmon Only" derby, and the other year (even years) is for any species of Salmon.
So, this year (2012) is for any species of salmon legal to be caught. Get your derby tickets now, before they are sold out.!"
There are (3) divisions Adult, Youth, & Child. The Vashon Island Salmon Derby is a benefit for the "Interfaith Council to Prevent Homlessness", which provides housing assistance for those who are experiencing financial hardships, & could be left homeless without our assistance. As part of the Northwest Salmon Derby Series, adult ticket holders are entered into the drawing for the Grand Prize, which is a fully rigged boat/motor/trailer package. Dockton Park, Vashon Island is easily accessible via boat from many locations in the South Puget Sound. Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and Des Moines can all easily access this wonderful King County Park with numerous boat slips. So, fish your favorite spot, and join us by weigh-in time you might just catch the "BIG ONE"
