SANKOFA FILM FESTIVAL
Films from the African Diaspora
In Partnership with IFP Minnesota
Curated by E.G. Bailey and Shá Cage
In the Theater | Part of the Inside Out Festival
The Sankofa Film Festival features films that showcase narratives of the divergent and dynamic stories of Black life in the US and internationally. The Sankofa Film Festival was founded to showcase the ever-evolving vision of African cinema, and to address the under-representation of films and filmmakers of African descent. It takes place in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area which is home to not only a vibrant African American community but also one of the largest African communities in the country, with residents from Liberia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya and others.
Intermedia Arts is proud to present the short films portion of the Sankofa Film Festival:
