Sankofa Film Festival | Shorts - Set B
Tru Ruts and Intermedia Arts present
Films from the African Diaspora
In Partnership with IFP Minnesota
Curated by E.G. Bailey and Shá Cage
In the Theater | Part of the Inside Out Festival

The Sankofa Film Festival features films that showcase narratives of the divergent and dynamic stories of Black life in the US and internationally. The Sankofa Film Festival was founded to showcase the ever-evolving vision of African cinema, and to address the under-representation of films and filmmakers of African descent. It takes place in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area which is home to not only a vibrant African American community but also one of the largest African communities in the country, with residents from Liberia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya and others.

Intermedia Arts is proud to present the short films portion of the Sankofa Film Festival:
"For the Fam" Shorts Programme | September 24, 2016 | Saturday | 2PM
Shorts Programme | September 25, 2016 | Sunday | 2PM

We encourage you to check out the feature films being presented as part of the two-week Sankofa Film Festival around town (September 16-25) including Haile Gerima's SANKOFA at The Walker Art Center on Friday, September 16, An African Purple Rain presented in partnership with the The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul on September 17, and more at IFP North, Bully Creative, and additional community venues.
