The Garden / So Pitted / Heyrocco / Lineman's Rodeo / Daddy Issues @ Lookout Lounge
The Garden is a constantly evolving, conceptual punk band based in Orange County, California. Established in in 2011 by twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears, the band consistently defies categorization and continues to break ground in their self inflicted Vada Vada genre*. They are the auditory invaders of the new world; borderless, informed and decentralized, slick sound released from constraint and old ideologies.
*Vada Vada: An idea that represents pure creative expression, that disregards all previously made genres and ideals.-Wyatt Shears 2015

So Pitted - Blending sludgy post-punk with experimental, grunge-kissed noise rock, Seattle-based trio So Pitted were formed out of a shared love for bands like Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, and the Mars Volta. Built around the talents of multi-instrumentalists Nathan Rodriguez, Liam Downey, and Jeannine Koewler, So Pitted gleaned their name from a popular YouTube video that featured a surfer uttering the phrase after a particularly gnarly ride. Their penchant for nonlinear songwriting and desperate lyrics set against a backdrop of shape-shifting yet always seismic volume has drawn comparisons to bands like Sonic Youth, Tad, Mudhoney, Fucked Up, and even early Nirvana. In late 2015 they released a series of singles ("Holding the Void," "Feed Me," "Rot in Hell") in anticipation of their full-length debut, Neo, which was issued via Sub Pop in early 2016.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------heyrocco - The stars were aligned when childhood friends Black Future (vocals, guitar, hair gel), Christopher Cool (bass, korg, driving), and Taco Cooper (drums, mandolin) first plugged in their parents garage five years ago. It didnt take long before they quit school in pursuit of becoming the biggest and loudest rock band of their generation. This South Carolina-bred trio may be known for their dark, nostalgic pop tunes, but their compelling image and onstage persona is in-your-face rock and roll. Their music is reminiscent of bands such as The Cure, Nada Surf, and early Pumpkins spiked with an experimental blend of Broken Social Scene meets On A Friday. After spending their teenage years playing shows all over the country, the band plans to release their debut full-length album sometime in 2014. If you are fortunate enough to catch them live, grab an autograph to prove you met them before it all began.

Daddy Issues - Daddy Issues became somewhat of an internet sensation after they caught the ear of local label Infinity Cat Recordings, who posted their song Ugly When I Cry on Soundcloud. 200K hits later (and only six months after learning their instruments), the band was off to Austin, TX as an official SXSW artist. Now that theyre back home, its finally time for Daddy Issues to get physical.
