Holly Near: in concert!
The legendary folk singer performs songs from throughout her career, and from her brand new CD, in the one-and-only North Bay appearance of her 2012 Fall Tour. During her long career in folk and protest music, Holly Near has worked with a wide array of musicians, including Ronnie Gilbert, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Bernice Johnson Reagon, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Meg (Shambhavi) Christian, Cris Williamson, Linda Tillery, Joan Baez, and others. Her autobiography, Singing in the Fire, Singing in the Rain, was turned into an award-winning one woman show in 1995.
Her song "Singing For Our Lives" was performed by Quaker Friends in an episode of the TV series "'Six Feet Under'".
