Cornering Skills 101

San Francisco Randonneurs presents a cycling skills clinic led by former road racing cyclist and author Paul Skilbeck.

This class teaches the key skills of cornering in an undemanding setting where students are not concerned with going too fast or navigating unfamiliar corners. In both the 101 and 201 clinics we complete multiple laps of an easy circuit so students may gain skill and confidence by focusing on technique. Many students in this class experience rapidly increasing control, and with that comes higher levels of confidence and comfort. As a result, some students find they can increase their speed incrementally without feelings of diminishing control, while others prefer to maintain the speed to which they are accustomed while enjoying new-found confidence and control.

Subjects covered include vision, line, leaning and braking. The session begins indoors with a seminar and then moves outside to demonstrate and practice skills in a carefully selected location.

Come ready to ride with bikes in tip-top condition. You may park your bike inside Sports Basement, in the Big Room.
