Game-changing Technologies
From the wooden wheel to the modern smartphone, advances in technology have changed the way we work, play, and live. To say that technology can be revolutionary or game-changing is quite an understatement, when you consider that we now have an entire generation that has never known life without the Internet. That said, as we peer into the not too distant horizon, what are some of the technology-related projects or products that could revolutionize our world in the next few years? Come hear about some of the next-generation technologies from companies such as Google and Facebook that could be considered science fiction today, but a brave new reality tomorrow.
Speakers Bio
Wilson Yip is the Lead IT Auditor at Hawaiian Electric Industries, where he evaluates and reviews information technologies and related business processes for overall effectiveness, security, and compliance. Prior to his current position, Wilson has over a decade of experience in both information technology and finance with various institutions, including Bank of Hawaii, American Savings Bank, and American Express. Born and raised in Honolulu, he holds an Economics degree from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Wilson is currently President of the Hawaii Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals and Past President of the Hawaiian Electric Company Chapter of Toastmasters International.
