Russian Nights with Sarasa in Cambridge
The final program of Sarasa's season will conclude with the warmth of a great big Russian bearhug. Led by the ever elegant Haldan Martinson, Principal Second Violin of the BSO, Sarasa will delve into opulent, sonorous palettes of colour and virtuosic string writing in two much beloved works by compatriots and contemporaries Anton Arensky and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Program for May 20, 2017 at the Friends Meeting House in Cambridge, MA will include:
Arensky String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 35 for violin, viola and two cellos Tchaikovsky String Sextet in D minor 'Souvenir de Florence', Op. 70
Haldan Martinson & Christina Day Martinson, violins; Jenny Stirling & Marka Gustavsson violas; Timothy Merton & Jennifer Morsches, cellos
