Music At The Depot featuring Bill Noonan & The Barbed Wires
The Gaston County Museum of Art & History presents Music at the Depot featuring Bill Noonan & The Barbed Wires on Friday, October 12 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at its renovated train Depot located at 205 West Main Street in Dallas, NC.

Bill Noonan is best known in indie music circles as leader and chief songwriter of the Rank Outsiders, Charlotte NC-based roots-rock pioneers who were a popular fixture on the Southeastern music scene for more than a decade from 1990 until 2002.

His more recent work is reflected on two solo albums: Catawba City (2006) and The Man That I Can't Be (2009).

Following the release of The Man That I Can't Be, Noonan found himself tapping a revolving cast of characters for accompaniment on live dates, and wishing for greater stability in his musical life. The stars aligned in his favor in early 2011 with the formation of the Barbed Wires.

The Barbed Wires are a band of veteran Charlotte-area players ideally suited to Noonan's eclectic original style, which combines a reverence for traditional roots (folk, blues, honky-tonk, bluegrass, and rock 'n' roll) with savvy song craft and impressive musical versatility.

Members of The Barbed Wires include Bill Walpole (steel guitar), Joe Williams (bass), Lee Sharpe (drums) and Christopher Chandek Peace (guitar).  All are long-time veterans of the Charlotte-area music scene, known among players and fans alike for their musical versatility and their energetic, highly entertaining live performances.
