Songwriters Circle: An evening with three of the most remarkable & talented musicians from Maine
A unique evening showcasing three of Maine's best known Singer Songwriters: Story teller and musician Denny Breau, Portland's songtress Emilia Dahlia, and the award-winning musician and song writer Heather Pierson.
DENNY BREAU, a Musician's Musician
Denny Breaus rhythmically flawless and dazzlingly clear style allows him to do amazing and stunning things with a six-string guitar. He first draws in an audience with a finely arranged melody and then slides effortlessly into scorching fingerwork that sets ears aflame. The lighting fast guitar lines that seem almost humanly impossible to accomplish are balanced with those that have a quiet intimacy and wrap tenderly around his carefully crafted songs. EMILIA DAHLIA, considered Portland's Songstress
Wielding a voice that defies the size of her body and strong storytelling sensibilities, Emilia Dahlin has carved out her name as a unique songstress. She weaves mesmerizing tales (complete with Greek myths, robotic messiahs, epic floods, and tax evaders) with raw, rootsy folk and dynamic jazz vocals. Her well-crafted songs sound as if they've been left outside where time and weather have worn cracks for the wind to whip through. Her sky-rocketing energy is delivered with honesty.
HEATHER PIERSON, award-winning artist & songwriter
At first glance, Heather Pierson appears to be the girl next door youthful, friendly, a little bit shy. However, at the seat of a piano or brandishing an acoustic guitar, tenor banjo, or melodica, she transforms into a world-class performer, baring her soul in a manner that leaves her listeners breathless and aching for more. Heather Pierson is an award-winning pianist, multi-genre singer/songwriter, arranger, bandleader, and performer.
