The Psychotronic Film Society presents THE BRUCE CAMPBELL BIRTHDAY BASH at Muse Arts Warehouse!
*** NOTE: YOU MAY PURCHASE TICKETS TO EITHER THE 5PM OR 8PM SHOW AT THE LINK ABOVE. JUST USE THE DROP-DOWN MENU TO SELECT THE LATER SCREENING ***
For the very first time in the history of the known universe, the Psychotronic Film Society of Savannah (the most Award-Winning Indie Film Series in local polls for over a decade) salutes Bruce Campbell on the occasion of his 58th birthday with an insanely rare public screening of one of the least-known but coolest motion pictures hes ever starred in: the 1997 low-budget masterpiece of filmmaking sleight-of-hand RUNNING TIME.
*** TO HEAR BRUCE HIMSELF PRAISE THAT FILM, GO TO THE 7:20 MIN. MARK IN THE YOUTUBE VIDEO TO THE LEFT OF THIS TEXT ***
Shot for less than $150,000 on B&W 16mm film, it takes place in real time, meaning that all of the events portrayed in the 70-minute film are depicted as they actually occur over the course of a little over an hour, and then carefully edited together to give the illusion that RUNNING TIME was shot in one long, continuous take.
RUNNING TIME is a dazzling feat of independent moviemaking that is criminally overlooked, and boasts a flat-out terrific dramatic performance by Bruce. It deserves to be seen on the big screen, as its director, cast and crew always intended.
The film only played at one cinema in Los Angeles for a single week in 1997, and has has not been seen in a theatrical setting for two decades. However, through a special arrangement with director JOSH BECKER, the PFS is very proud to partner with our friends at MUSE ARTS WAREHOUSE (repeatedly named Best Indie Film Venue in local polls) to present an authorized, one-night-only engagement of RUNNING TIME.
Each of the two screenings (at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.) will feature Bruce Campbell trivia before the film, plus a pre-show raffle for cool, Bruce-related items.
$10 admission includes your choice of a wide variety of candy and snacks from Muses concession stand, and all sorts of soft drinks and fresh, organic popcorn will be available as well, for crazy low prices.
Dont miss this extremely unique chance to catch a great, little-known film and salute a living legend of sci-fi, horror, fantasy and adventure movies and TV!
This event is kindly sponsored by the good folks at CONNECT SAVANNAH newspaper.
