Ryanhood & Friction Farm at Devil Mountain Coffee House
Cameron Hoods rich and folky lead vocals, Ryan Greens explosive guitar and mandolin riffs, and their airtight vocal harmonies prompted the Arizona Daily Star to call them, a match made in radio heaven. Ryanhood has collectively performed more than 800 shows in 42 U.S. states, where their cross-generational sound has been equally at home in colleges, coffee-houses, concert halls, churches, and living rooms. Named Best Group/Duo in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA), their intimate storytelling and acoustic guitar interplay have brought them more than a dozen Tucson Music Awards in their new home town.
Friction Farm is guitarist/vocalist Aidan Quinn and bassist/vocalist Christine Stay. They are avid readers who decided to turn that into a project, discussing a book, seeing where the story would take them, and writing a song. It was fun & frustrating, invigorating & exhausting, but always interesting. They combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems each song is filled with harmony and hope.
