Well folks, it's been two years. Two years since Strangled Darlings foolishly cast off from the hippest city in America. We said farewell to handcrafted lattes, bergamot infused high balls with iceberg cubes and fixed gears. We said hello to the paved anonymity of Quiznos, Jimmy Johns & of course MacDoh, these parts of America that support the arts in their own American way. Our beloved Walmart has given us food, duck ponds and of course free parking across the long & winding road that is our fair land. As Mark Twain said, America is not a place, it's a road and this summer, Strangled Darlings takes Shakeyhouse northwestward to lands where it all began. We've learned so much, almost as much as we've forgotten, and in a string of shows to follow the summer light, we're coming back to Portland & the mossy pines of the Northwest. Somebody get me a chunk of iceberg for my cocktail, I hear they're floating down from Anchorage.
The lovely Cult of Orpehus will join us to play sonnets and scare away the road demons.
