Tenor Thomas King and pianist Vicki King will present a varied recital of English, American, German and French songs and arias. Among the couple's favorite composers are Clara and Robert Schumann, also a musical pair. For this Faculty Select concert, the Kings will perform fours songs by the Schumanns. As a champion of the composer Kurt Weill, whose work has been selected as the focus of a yearlong Interdisciplinary Festival at DePauw, Thomas will sing a Weill work from his own senior recital 49 years ago: "September Song," a poignant piece about the September of one's life. The concert concludes with arias by Gershwin and Strauss.
General admission: $10 Tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
