Orcenith Smith, music director Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. Green Center, Kresge Auditorium
The opening of the DePauw University Orchestras season highlights an impressive array of different styles. The one-hour program, conducted by music director Orcenith Smith, will begin with the "Festive" Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich, followed by Ludwig van Beethoven's remarkable Symphony No. 1. Igor Stravinsky's landmark 1919 suite from "The Firebird" ballet will conclude the concert.
General admission: $5 Tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
