An Evening of Opera Arias with Tim Oliver
Norfolk raised and Dresden Germany based tenor Tim Oliver will perform a program of operatic arias and leder.
American tenor Timothy Oliver began his career by earning a "fest contract" with the world famous Semperoper in Dresden, Germany. In his time there, Mr. Oliver has performed in over 45 operas with over 50 roles in his repertoire. Such roles include the Steuermann in Wagner's "Der Fliegende Holl'nder," Brighella and the Tanzmeister from Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos," Arbace from Mozart's "Idomeneo," Pedrillo from Mozart's 'Entf'hrung aus dem Serail,' and Camille de Rosillon from L'har's "Die Lustige Witwe." Opening the 2012/2013 season at the Semperoper in September, Die Welt wrote of Mr. Oliver's performance as the 2nd Soldier in the premiere of Hans Werner Henze's, "We Come to the River," as "the strongest vocal performance of the evening."

In addition to his numerous performances at the Semperoper and concert appearances, Mr. Oliver is looking forward to two very important debuts this year. The first in the Spring of 2015 with the Leipzig Oper as the role of Cecil Cheshire in the world premiere opera 'The Canterville Ghost' by Gordon Getty. The second debut will be with the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater in February of 2016 as the role of Gandhi in Philip Glass' 'Satyagraha.'
