Matt Miner Presents, sponsor Hearing Health and O'Connor's Vault present singer-songwriter Cal Scott with a supporting cast of some of Portland's finest musicians, Saturday May 21 at 7:00pm.

Cal Scott is a Portland singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His CD, Carved Wood Box, received widespread nationwide radio-play in 2013. He was awarded First Place in the Great American Song Contest for Paid Too Much for the Diamond, and Second Place in the Dallas (TX) Songwriters Contest for Smallest Act of Kindness, both from the CD.

Cal is supported in the Cal Scott Band by four incredible musicians: Dan Stueber, drums; Ted Swenson, bass; Ben Blechman, violin; and Brian Rose, keyboards. All are steeped in rock, jazz and swing traditions, and bring exciting improvising and groove playing to the shows.

Cal is the musical director of The Trail Band and has also recorded and toured internationally with renowned Irish fiddler, Kevin Burke. Their CD Across the Black River was hailed as one of the top 12 world music CDs of 2007 by the New York Times. He also composes music for film and TV, and has scored over 50 documentaries and specials for PBS, including three Frontlines and Oregon Public Broadcasting's Oregon Experience.
