Prairie Magic Music Fest
The Prairie Magic Music Fest is a celebration of rock, bluegrass, folk and americana music set right in the heart of a beautiful County Park just minutes from the expressway.
Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso, IN will host this new festival with a dynamite initial line up including local acts Fresh Hops and Nicole Jamrose as well as Nashville favorite Nora Jane Struthers.
Nora Jane is guided by fire. Struthers has [;come]; up with some of the most quietly powerful narratives within the new wave of Americana artists. The sound of the Party Line has progressed to include propulsive electric guitar and drums, and Struthers sweet voice is showing an edge, the better to meet the challenge. Ann Powers, NPR Music.
Fresh Hops is a 4 piece original jam band from Northwest Indiana. The band formed in March 2008 as a musical improvisational outlet among friends. Now Fresh Hops has evolved into a captivating, high energy live act.
The festival will also highlight craft food and beer vendors. The Rolling Stonebaker Pizza, Valpo Velvet Ice Cream and Bartlett's Grill will be satisfying hunger while a beer garden will make local microbrews available to those 21 and over.
The event is family friendly and kids 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Water will be available on site at no cost but coolers and outside food and beverages are not allowed.
