The Friel Sisters
The Friel Sisters: These three Glaswegian sisters have their family roots deeply embedded in Co. Donegal in North-West Ireland. Anna, Sheila and Clare create a wonderful, close, lively blend on fiddle, flute and uilleann pipes interspersed with haunting traditional songs, many from their own family's wide repertoire. The trio has performed at numerous venues and festivals across Europe, America, Asia and have appeared on-stage with acts such as The Chieftains, Altan, Carlos Nunez. For this, their debut performance in Edinburgh, they are joined by Hajime Takahashi and Eamonn Nugent covering newly recorded and unreleased material along with old favourites.
