Mipso with opening act Shadowgrass at The Blue Ridge Music Center
The Blue Ridge Music Center kicks off its 2016 Summer "Roots of American Music Concert Series."
The four young renegade traditionalists that comprise the band Mipso are doing their part to carry forward the living musical traditions North Carolina and beyond. The bands evolving musical style blends classic four-part harmonies and traditional Appalachian country and folk sounds with jazz and pop to create a new musical texture and terrain that enriches and expands upon the traditional vocabularies of old time and bluegrass music. With the bands sophomore record Old Time Reverie debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart in October 2015, Mipso is fast becoming a household name in the bluegrass and Americana worlds.
