Mairearad and Anna
Two of Scotland's most revered multi-instrumentalists, Mairearad (accordion bagpipes, voice) and Anna (guitar, banjo, fiddle, voice) are a captivating duo, providing an energetic performance with a warm, friendly stage presence. Having played alongside each other for nearly 15 years, releasing three highly praised albums, they revel in an intuitive approach to each other's musical ideas, creating "music more than the sum of just two parts" (***** The Scotsman). Mairearad and Anna both grew up in the Scottish Highlands amidst similar musical backgrounds, and in their duo have enjoyed many successes and become a much-loved live act.
