In memory of Arbor Opera Theater's first artistic director, James K. Berg, we are pleased to announce the creation of the James K. Berg award for outstanding contributions to the vocal arts. Our 2016 recipients are the grammy-winning composer William Bolcom and mezzo soprano (and spouse) Joan Morris. This gala reception will feature a staged tribute of the works associated with Bolcom and Morris and all proceeds will go to support AOT's 2017 season, featuring a national tour of our ground-breaking "La Traviata" adaptation and Puccini's masterpiece "Tosca".
