Dundee Acoustic Music Club presents Machrihanish/North Atlantic Project
The North Atlantic Project has been an ongoing adventure for the last five years, creating innovative ways to combine Scottish and bluegrass music with their own original compositions. Formed around a fireplace in Glasgow, this unusual marriage of harp and dobro has been warmly received by audiences at festivals throughout Europe, Canada and across Scotland.
Machrihanish play original compositions, tunes from Gaelic and Piping tradition, from ancient collections such as Gow's, even jazz standards and somehow make it all fit seamlessly together into a fresh, vibrant and yet classic sound.
