Our Streets Are Numbered
The show follows up on 'No Redemption Songs', (Fringe sell-out 2014 and 2015 and tells the story of the former mining village of Horden, Co Durham in the years since the Miner's Strike and the pit's closure. Sold out by the Housing Association, houses stand empty and boarded up, social problems abound, but the people fight on. A new set of songs by Brenda Heslop, performed by Ribbon Road with films by Carl Joyce paint a picture of the results of Thatcher's revenge on the miners, into austerity and the continued attack on the working class.
