The Kaneohe and Kailua Wastewater Conveyance and Treatment Facilities Project. This is the largest tunnel boring machine project ever done in Hawaii. Very unique method for Hawaii as the machine was at times 700 feet underground and was mining through salt water. Very little to no disruption to residents or traffic. The presentation provides photos and drawings related to a 3-mile long, 10-foot inside diameter sewer tunnel being constructed between the citys Kaneohe and Kailua Sewage Treatment Plants. Don will comment on elements of project management, especially change management, in the tunnel construction industry.
