Saturday Family Concerts: Thomas Mapfumo
Thomas Mapfumo, the legendary "Lion of Zimbabwe" and father of electric mbira (thumb piano) music that inspired the Chimurenga songs of that countrys revolution, plays an infectious blend of African jazz, R & B, rock, reggae, with a touch of gospel. Presented with the Seattle International Children's Festival and sponsored by KEXP 90.3FM and ParentMap. This concert is appropriate for children 5 and older.
