Connor Garvey and Sorcha Cribben-Merrill

When each of these Maine singer-songwriters steps on stage at a folk festival, in a rock club or in a living room they immediately capture the audience with their presence, vocal strength and artful stories. Independent touring artists in their own right, Connor and Sorcha share similar musical backgrounds. When they team up as a duo, their harmonies alone can carry the show. Connor Garvey is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Portland, Maine, with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller.

Garvey leaves audiences uplifted and inspired through a positive message delivered in a way The Portland Press Herald says proves you can be optimistic and self-aware without being boring. His unique sandy tenor and masterful blend of rhythm and melody draw comparison to Paul Simon and contemporaries Josh Ritter and Jason Mraz. He wins song competitions. He fills rooms. But most of all he moves people.

This combination of songwriting and performance strength has earned Garvey numerous awards including being named winner of the Kerrville New Folk, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, SolarFest, Wildflower Art and Music Festival and Maine Songwriters Association songwriting competitions, voted as Most Wanted artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, nominated for Best Male Performer in the New England Music Awards, and a top new singer songwriter by Sirius XM's The Coffeehouse.

He builds upon on the energy of live performance to deliver a memorable experience in a way that has led folk stalwarts Vance Gilbert and David Wilcox to proclaim the tradition of acoustic music is in good hands with Connor Garvey. Sorcha Cribben-Merrill composes stirring folk-blues-soul music that she sings in a sultry, jazzy voice of unexpected power. From haunting ballads to funk grooves, her songs unveil a suite of musical styles that shows a wide-ranging songwriting ability. . . witty verses with smart rhymes. (Portland Phoenix)

Sorcha tours nationally solo and as a duo, and regionally with her band Sorcha & The Clearing. She is at home performing on an acoustic stage, at a roots festival, on a sail boat or in a rock club.

She was selected as an Emerging Artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (2012) and has sung her original songs with The Fogcutters, a contemporary big band from Maine. She has shared the stage with Tab Benoit, Tom Rush and the late Bill Morrissey and has performed at Caffe Lena (Saratoga Springs, NY), Club Passim (Cambridge, MA), Stone Mountain Arts Center (Brownfield, ME) and The State Theater (Portland, ME). She will release her third album, co-produced by Beehive Productions, in 2016.
