Mass
Revel with Sacred and Profane as we sing two masterworks of the English a cappella
canon. We will perform William Byrd's transportive sixteenth-century masterpiece, Mass
for Five Voices, among the most poignant works of the Renaissance era. We will also
present Ralph Vaughan Williams' mystical Mass in G Minor, arguably the composer's
finest work for choir. Composed in 1921 for unaccompanied double chorus and soloists,
this Mass is considered one of the greatest works of English polyphony written since
Byrd's time.
