2012 Yorkville Highlands Wine Festival

Every year on a Saturday in August the Yorkville Highlands Growers and Vintners Association hosts our Wine Festival in the scenic hills of southern Mendocino County. This year's event takes place from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Yorkville Cellars, located at mile marker 40.4 on Highway 128, between Cloverdale and Boonville.

This year's festival celebrates the 14th anniversary of Yorkville Highlands becoming an official wine growing appellation.

Yorkville Highlands Wine Festival has that old-time charm you just don't find in other regions. Over 60 wines will be available to taste produced from Yorkville wineries including: Bink Wines, Halcon Vineyards, Judson Hale, LeVin Estate, Lone Oak, Maple Creek, Meyer Family, Routh 128 Winery, and Yorkville Cellars. These artisan wines aren't found on supermarket shelves. Enjoy the traditional paella feed and delicious local cuisine, join in or watch a fun grape stomp, and other highland wacky games, a tempting silent auction, while listening to live music.

Eight miles west of Cloverdale on Hwy 101, two fully appointed rustic cottages offer both a relaxing retreat and a comfortable base for exploring the surrounding wine regions. The cottages are nestled beneath an ancient live oak with dramatic hillside vistas that beckon westward to the Mendocino coast. Hosts are Kurt Feichtmeir & Gerald Reis, association members.
