Eszter Balint with Chris Cochrane
Jon Pareles of The New York Times has this to say about singer songwriter and violinist Eszter Balint. "Miss Balint has her own film noir sensibility as a songwriter. She puts arty twists into back alley Americana, but the cleverness is not the point. She slips inside her characters to project their restlessness and longing."
In addition to three releases of her own, including her critically acclaimed 2015 album"Airless Midnight", Eszter has appeared on a number of notable recordings as a violinist and/or vocalist, including works by Michael Gira's Angels of Light and Swans and Marc Ribot's Los Cubanos Postizos and Ceramic Dog. Eszter's acting work includes her recent guest starring role in a six-episode arc ofLOUIE by Louis C.K., Season 4.
Eszter is thrilled to be performing her songs at Pangea, where she has been playing violin in Tammy Faye Starlite's Cabaret Marianne. Eszter will be joined on guitar by Chris Cochrane, her long time accompanist and one of New York's most innovative players.
