* Leland Stanford was an American "fat cat" -- a mogul and California governor and senator. He founded Stanford University. Mr. Stanford came to California from New York in the Gold Rush days and became a successful wheeler-dealer. He sold goods at wholesale and create a big business empire.
OK, you won't meet Leland at the party, since he lived in he 1800's. But there's a good chance you'll meet some other interesting, well-to-do singles at this event!
