Shirat Olam- Community Musical Shabbat Dinner
A new kind of Friday night gathering, taking place once a month, that celebrates music from Jewish communities around the world, including from North Africa and the Middle East. We are a singing community that loves to learn new melodies and to celebrate global Jewish cultural diversity. The singing focuses on Piyutim - liturgical poems with beautiful melodies - especially from the Sephardi world. The ancient texts, combined with traditional and modern music, connect Americans and Israelis, Ashkenazi and Mizrahi Jews, traditional text with modern Hebrew culture..
