Downton Abbey Finale Event
In association with PBS SoCal, The Huntington will host a screening of the final episode of the award-winning Masterpiece series, Downton Abbey. Find out how the story ends for the aristocratic Grantham family and their servants in the acclaimed drama filmed at the real-life English country estate of Highclere Castle. This special screening is paired with an introduction to the Highclere porcelain collection at The Huntington by Catherine Hess, chief curator of European art, and ends with an after-hours reception in the Huntington Art Gallery.
The screening will be held in Rothenberg Hall. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The event will begin at 3 p.m. with an introduction by The Huntington's chief curator of European art, Catherine Hess. PBS SoCal will then give a welcome and host a costume contest.
As a historical drama, authenticity meets glamour in Downton Abbey's period wardrobe - from Edwardian to roaring Twenties. If the fashions inspire you, come in a period costume of your own and join in the costume contest!
Following the screening guests are invited to visit the Huntington Art Gallery to see the Highclere objects and enjoy cheese and wine on the Loggia.
The Huntington Cafe will be open until 5 p.m. Ticket sales do not support the screening.
Reserved Seating Required.
Huntington Admission is not included in the ticket price. Tickets are only for the event.
There is no food or drink allowed in Rothenberg Hall.
