Critically acclaimed composer/pianist Lisa Hilton debuts new compositions from her 2016 release, NOCTURNAL in this solo piano show. Hilton's impressionistic "sound paintings" continue to explore the soundscape of jazz and blues alongside classical, modernist, and avant-garde ideas. This performance includes her beautiful and evocative, "Midnight Sonata," which expresses the classical form merging with the freedom of American jazz and blues in a trans-genre approach. Hilton,"has been compared to some of the best pianists in history," and "One of the major voices in the modern jazz community". Check out for yourself what DownBeat calls, "A deeply expressive style." Hilton debuted NOCTURNAL January 17th at Carnegie Hall - this is a unique opportunity to hear Hilton in an intimate space.
